Calendar Feed Checker

Paste a calendar subscription link to check that it works and see the upcoming events it serves right now. Free, with no sign-up, and your link isn't saved.

Paste an https://, http:// or webcal:// subscription link. It is sent once to our server to fetch the feed, and isn't saved, logged or added to this page's address.

What the checker looks at

  • Whether the link returns a calendar, rather than a web page, sign-in page or error.
  • The upcoming events over the next 12 months, with repeats, skipped and changed dates, tentative and cancelled events, and all-day events.
  • How the server answered: redirects, caching instructions, Last-Modified and ETag.
  • Change details on each event, such as UID, SEQUENCE and LAST-MODIFIED, when the publisher includes them.

To check a downloaded .ics file instead, use the ICS validator, which reads the file in your browser without uploading it.

Why your calendar app may still show the old event

Calendar apps keep their own copy of each subscribed feed and fetch a new one on their own schedule. Checking a feed here shows what it serves now, but it doesn't make an app fetch it again, and apps don't publish when they last did.

In our own testing, a public calendar feed already listed an event's new time while Google Calendar still showed the old one. The feed was right; the app simply hadn't refreshed yet. How long that takes varies by app and isn't guaranteed.

Want to see your own app's delay? Subscribe to the sample feed. Its first event is titled with the time the feed was generated, so it shows when your app last fetched it.

Privacy and limits

Your link travels once from your browser to our server, which fetches the feed and sends it back to you. The link and the feed aren't stored, added to the page address, or sent to analytics or error logs. Only the host name is shown in the results.

For safety, the checker only fetches public internet addresses, follows up to 5 redirects, waits up to 10 seconds and reads up to 5 MiB. Links with a username or password aren't checked. You can check the same link again after a short wait.
